Fergie arrived at JFK airport from South Africa in October xxxx. He was 7 weeks old and looked like a ball of skin and paws. He was a playful loving puppy who used to cry for me to sit on the floor so he could crawl on my lap to fall asleep.
He started Puppy Kindergarten immediately and proved he would do anything for a chunk of liverwurst. As he grew (and did he ever grow) he became a protective affectionate dog who loved his owners and would follow us wherever we went.
One of Fergie's favorite things is riding in the car. People often point and laugh at his big head sticking out of the window. He loves splashing along the beach but is afraid of the waves. In the snow, he runs as fast as he can sliding and eating snow along the way.
We love Fergie and treated him like our child. Unfortunately neither of us are able to take proper care of him after our separation. He needs to be around people. So, we sent him to the wonderful people at Gentle Giants to care for him and find him a loving home. Fergie loves affection. Often I would come home from work to find the tell tale pink lipstick marks on the top of his head from his dog walker.
He protects his house and his family. It has broken my heart to lose Fergie from my life. My hope is that he will find happiness in another person's home and that they will find happiness in the lovable protective Boerboel that gave us so much joy and made me feel so very safe.
